A world in which all children, including children living and working on the streets of Harare are treated as citizens worthy of dignity and respect, with their needs met and rights upheld

Mission

To uphold the rights of children living and working on the streets of Harare giving them emotional, social and practical support, meeting their needs; and providing encouragement and assistance to those who wish to leave the streets; working in partnership with all relevant stakeholders and others who share our vision.

Aims and Objectives of Streets Ahead

1. To help street children in the form of material assistance as well as legal advice, counselling, rehabilitation and education.


2. To research the causes that bring children to the streets and reduce the incidence through public awareness and education and knowledge of help available through Streets Ahead and other agencies.


3. To promote the social development of street children by persuading them to leave the streets and be reunited with their families.


4. To promote income-generating projects to the children and or their families, supported by grants or loans.
